    Up grading my GPU

    Hi
    I have recently installed the latest photoshop and light room.
    When I start up photoshop it is saying that my GPU is not good enough (laymans terms) drivers out of date ( ihave tried to update but nothing happens) and also insufficiant VRAM 1032mb of 1500mB required.

    My system

    tower pc
    Processor i3 9350KF cpu 4GHz
    Ram 8GB
    windows home 10
    Graphics card Nvidia ge force GT710

    What would be your advice to upgrade the graphics card to work with my system, I do not play games on the pc so just need to ne enough to run photoshop.

    Is this easy to do myself, I asm quite hands on and read a little bit on it and it does not seem too diffficult.

    Thank you for any advice

    Hello Spike,

    More info is needed;

    The GT 710 is bottom end so you most likely only have a very basic PSU, low wattage, cheap brand and no efficiency rating,

    Is the computer a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if a brand name, provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number for the MB, the RAM ( including the number of sticks and speed ) and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable folk to better help you.

        @phillpower2 will help you decide what is best for you.
        You may need to think of other parts to upgrade.

          I look forward to seeing what he has to say, I do believe that I may need to have more power/wattage

            As your parts list stands you need the following;

            A matching pair of 2400MHz 8GB sticks of RAM, the MB only having two memory slots means that you cannot utilize the 4GB sticks so sell them on ebay or similar to recoup some of your outlay.

            A new PSU, VS = Value Series and possibly the poorest/weakest range of PSU that Corsair have ever made, we can`t recommend a PSU until we know what GPU you decide upon.

            Because the MB is the smaller micro ATX type we need to know what case you have, modern GPUs are generally longer and wider than older GPUs so we need to make sure that you have enough room inside the case for any potential new GPU.

            In addition to the above, let us know you maximum budget for the GPU, PSU and RAM.
