    nvlddmkm.sys Video TDR Failure

    Dear members,

I am writing in search for your expertise and help. For several months, if not a year, I have this wonderful blue screen crash on my computer with the following error : VIDEO TDR FAIlURE nvlddmkm.sys
Researching this error led me to a bunch of fixes that I’ve tried but didn’t work. I will list them below but first here is my config:
    Processor: Intel Core i5-6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz
    RAM: 8GB DDR4
    Motherboard: Z170s Pro4s
Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
Disk: 2TB HDD and 125 GB SSD
(if you need more info, ask me I will provide)

Now here are some of the fixes I tried but didn’t work:
    • reinstalled windows 10 and the computer to factory settings
    • reinstalled graphic card drivers cleanly using safe mode
    • changed my SSD in 2023 because it was half working
    • changed my screen
    • undervolted my GPU using MSI afterburner
    • windows startup repair, runned SFC and DISM

That it why I’m looking for your expertise. I am far from an expert in PC and I haven’t found a solution yet.
Also, the PC mostly crashes when i start playing a game or a video but when i restart I very often get no signal on my screen. I often have to hard restart the PC multipe times before the motherboard logo starts to show up. It looks like the HDMI is unplugged for some reason and I believe its linked with this error.
I think the problem must be hardware but I do not know how to identify which composent is the issue in order to replace it.

I would greaty appreciate your hep and to all of you, merry christmas!

Your list of fixes didn’t mention using DDU to update the video card driver, so see if anything here helps; [Solved] Video_TDR_Failure (nvlddmkm.sys) BSOD Error on Windows - Driver Easy

Also disable XMP memory overclocking in BIOS and see if that helps.

You mention changing screens - looks like you are currently using a 55cm TV, if so, have you tried a normal computer monitor?
