No Sound after Power Supply Replacement

I tried to get the sound working for a couple of hours off and on today ..Got some blue screens and even black ones ..even when windows loaded it still doesn’t have sound .. I have a battery for the cmos coming tomorrow .. I will let you know how that goes ..

What about all the other options, have you tried them, if yes, what happened, if no, give them a try.

I have a windows 10 CD with the code for it to work ..maybe I could run that and the drivers would work .

Did you not understand the fact that you have to use drivers provided by Dell and installed in the exact order that they tell you to;

[COLOR=rgb(184, 49, 47)]you 100% have to install Dell drivers how Dell tells you to or you will at some point get issues, this should have been done from the get go as Windows has a nasty habit of installing the wrong drivers.

Are you aware that after clean installing Windows on a new drive that immediately afterwards and before Windows is allowed to check for updates you must install the system drivers first, this is particularly important with Dell computers because they are so picky that Dell provides a driver installation order list that you must follow, see How to Install Dell Drivers in the Correct Order

Have you have checked the device manager for an error.. Given the age of this pc you may want to change out the cmos battery as well..

Ding Ding Ding .. Thank You .. just installed a new battery ..System did some kind of repair and seems to be running now .. The old 3 volt battery had less than 2.5 volts .. I “researched” it seems it has something to do with the bios when the battery goes ..so I got it running again ..now if only the sound works .. I’m just happy it will boot up now .. I will let you know about the sound …

welllll …still no sound ..I cannot figure it out ..Trying to load a new Windows 10 system from a CD …“Maybe” that will help ..

before you reinstall windows go here and download the audio driver

Installation

1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file.
2. Read the information in the dialog window.

Installed an old Hard drive that I cloned from the one in this Opti 760 and everything seems to work now ..Think the whole problem was that stupid bios battery … I am going to switch it into where I do most of my “computer stuff” and take this old 760 opti out for a spare .. It works fine ..but I want to see what 4 cores rather than 2 in the processor does also the “new” one holds 4 times as much ram ..so we will see …

 I just didn't want to leave this question I had open ..Someone helped and I really appreciate it .. I will come back to this thread if it breaks down ...again .

Hello .. sorry I couldn’t figure how to reply to you without hitting the reply key ..been trying to keep up with what I have tried .. The Dell website wanted me to download and install some kind of installer …I downloaded and opened it and it told me something would be in my toolbar to click on ..but nothing was there …anyhow I finally figured how to ask and download all the updates and bios for my pc by the service tag # .. I used your list you posted to install the programs in order ..It’s running now .. I had replaced the 2032 battery and thought it was OK as it ran for 3/4 of a day before the blue screen .. Using my 760 here again for my Entertainment PC .. I do everything but games on here ..
Just wanted to update this .. i will make that 9020 my main computer again ..tomorrow ..and see if it doesn’t crash .. I Hope
So thanks for your suggestions ..it just took me a while to figure how to use them … And I’m still not sure it’s “fixed”
