I tried to get the sound working for a couple of hours off and on today ..Got some blue screens and even black ones ..even when windows loaded it still doesn’t have sound .. I have a battery for the cmos coming tomorrow .. I will let you know how that goes ..

before you reinstall windows go here and download the audio driver

Download- Click Download File.
- When the File Download window is displayed, click Save to save the file to your hard drive.
Installation- Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file.
- Read the information in the dialog window.
- Download and install any prerequisites that are identified in the dialog window before proceeding.
- Click the Install button.
- Follow the remaining prompts to perform the update.

Installed an old Hard drive that I cloned from the one in this Opti 760 and everything seems to work now ..Think the whole problem was that stupid bios battery … I am going to switch it into where I do most of my “computer stuff” and take this old 760 opti out for a spare .. It works fine ..but I want to see what 4 cores rather than 2 in the processor does also the “new” one holds 4 times as much ram ..so we will see …

Did you not understand the fact that you have to use drivers provided by Dell and installed in the exact order that they tell you to;

So thanks for your suggestions ..it just took me a while to figure how to use them … And I’m still not sure it’s “fixed”
