P8Z68 V Pro/Gen 3 Asus Motherboard Ram not being detected

    Hey there,

So I installed new RAM and 2 of the 4 Dimm slots are not being detected, when I check the task manager > performance it shows only 2 of 4 DIMM, I have 4 Ram sticks in my mobo. I have tried everything from reseating the ram to running with only 2 of the 4, I checked to see if the sticks were bad by just seating 2 in the A2 and B2 position but all the ram works in the 2 positions but when I try to connect all 4 only 2 show, I’m thinking there is an issue with the A1 and B1 ram slots on my Mobo but I’m not sure if that’s the cause. what else can I do to be certain?

To clarify you have tested both slots?

That’s correct, according to the Manual the recommended slots are A2 and B2 for 2 sticks, So I tried both A1 and B1, then A2 and B2, and it seems that the A1 and B1 slots don’t work.

and have you checked the new RAM is listed on in QVL for that motherboard?

long shot, and I don’t recall ever seeing such a setting, but check BIOS doesn’t have some sort of “turn off A1 and B1 slots”.
