Annoying buzzing noise

My PC likes to make a buzzing noise when I play games. I am around 80% sure this has something to do with the power supply or fans as it doesn’t seem to relate to GPU or CPU percentage. It has been happening for about 6 months and doesn’t seem to have affected the performance of my PC, it is just very annoying to have to listen to when playing games. Any help would be appreciated.

Buzzing usually comes from coils.

Any chance of taking the PSU out of the case (if the cables are long enough…) to verify?

doesn’t sound like a fan noise, but stop each one with a soft bristled brush to check that theory.
don’t forget to push the brush into the back of the power supply to stop that fan.
obviously you only need to stop the blades for long enough to determine if the noise goes away.

because of the way the noise stops and starts, it sounds like it may be a hard drive.
does the noise also happen if you boot the PC into BIOS?
if so, stop the PC, disconnect any hard drives, and reboot into BIOS.
you may get ‘no drive detected’ messages, don’t worry, we just want to get into BIOS and see if the noise has stopped.
