    CPU Power requirments?

I have an Intel i9-13900kf CPU and wondered if it needs both (two) 8-pin power cables attached to the mobo, or will one connector do? I am not going to overclock it. The PC is intended for MSFS 2020.

    Thanx.

    EVGA SuperNova T2 1600 W PSU.
ASUS Strix Z790-E Gaming WIFI MOBO.
    Samsung 990 Pro SSD.
    64GB Kingston Fury DDR5 ram.
AIO iCUE H115i Elite Capellix XT
    Windows 10.

Where would you plug these 2 plugs in on the motherboard? Can you show me?

Top left of the mobo ATX 12V 1 and an ATX 12V 2. How do I add a picture?

There are a variety of ways. Take a photo with your phone. Email the photo to yourself. Download the photo from the email. From that folder, you can drag the photo into the post.

That PSU has x2 CPU 8-pin connectors, why wouldn’t you use both of them?

I have used a CPU before on a MOBO with only one cable attached, it worked fine. Just wanted some opinions on what the results would be if I used one or two. I don’t want to huff my CPU.

You won’t huff it, I have ran two CPU power cables on a far less powerful CPU for years, it will only suck up what it is going to use.

With some board you can ‘technically’ get away with only plugging in one but there is no reason to do this if you have both cables available to you.

Furthermore, your manual has this to say:
Ensure to connect the 8-pin power plug or both 8-pin power plugs.

You have the connectors and are recommended to use them by the board manufacturer, failure to do so could result in voiding your warranty or result in problems with your system.

Thanx for that masterful response ??? That’s that done.
A new problem has arisen, the CPU power cables are in the way of the AIO radiator I wanted to mount to the top of the Corsair Obsidian 650D case.

                    Glad we got that sorted.

As far as power cables, just find somewhere else to run them- as unhelpful as that sounds.

If you have to use cable ties to secure it to something I don’t see any problems with it aside from it not looking as neat. Just make sure you’re not securing your cables to stuff you shouldn’t or blocking airflow/fan blades.
