Video Games crashing. CPU at 100%

    AMD ryzen 3600X

    Asus Prime x570-P motherboard

    RTX 2080 Super Black Edition

    32 GB RAM

The other day after a windows update one of my hard drives failed. Since then I’ve been dealing with all sorts of issues with my computer. My computer works fine for things such as google, YouTube and work but whenever I try to game it crashes mid game. Noticed my CPU at 100%. My RAM has been checked and is Ok. Don’t think it’s a GPU issue. All drivers have been updated and I did a reinstall of windows to no avail. I can’t game. Also when I try to connect my new hard drive since my last one failed I can’t boot my pc. It boots with the broken one but fails to recognize the broken one.

How many drives do you have?

        Which ones failed?

        Are they SSDs or HDDs?

        Where are/were your games stored?

I had two. My HDD failed and games are on the SSD

See if you are able to run Speccy-

            Let’s get some more information:

Download and run the free version of speccy.

Once you have ran speccy, follow the instructions to upload a snapshot found here.

Please list your power supply unit (manufacturer and model)

                Operating System
                Windows 10 Home 64-bit

                Windows is shown to have been a recent install and I`m afraid it was done badly, see my canned explanation below;
Once Windows has been clean installed you must then install first the MBs chipset drivers then the storage/SATA drivers and third the graphics drivers, the drivers can either come from a disk provided by the motherboard manufacturer or downloaded from their site and saved to a flash drive etc, this is a must and Windows should not be allowed to check for updates before it has been done as more often than not Windows installs the wrong drivers or in the incorrect order and this can cause all sorts of problems.

The chipset is what enables the MB to be able to communicate with all the hardware + are the first drivers that Windows looks for on boot.

The PSU is only entry level and should not be used anywhere near an add on GPU, rated as – Tier F • Replace immediately here[/COLOR]
