Pc not booting

Hey all, I was using my pc as normal when suddenly it judt shut off completely, ko overheating, no lag, no blue screen, just from on, to off.

I have tested every part apart from the cpu as I have no other AM4 boards.

Every ez-debug led lights up, apart from the cpu, and only for a split second at that

SPECS

• Ryzen 5 3600
• MSI B550M Bazooka
• Corsair vengeance RGB (16gbs)
• GTX 1660 SUPER OC
• 80+Gold cooler master 550W

Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

Have you tried swapping the PSU?
How did you test the PSU?

Different monitor?

Does anything come up on the screen?

It the motherboard has a speaker attached to it is there any BIOS codes.

Have to cleared the CMOS?

What is the age of the parts there may be some wear.

I used a different Psu with the same wattage from another pc. Same result

Nothing on the screen, stays black, no power no nothing.

Nah no speakers on by board or anything.

The CMOS is the next thing I’ll try thanks.

All parts are around 4 years old, but are still operational as I tested them seperatley and in combination with another pc

UPDATE Just cleared the CMOS and attempted to boot, same result unfortunaley, is it safe to assume my CPU is fried?

Were you overclocking at all ?

MBs are more prone to failure than CPUs are and they only really fail when badly OCd or the PSU malfunctions and puts out too much voltage to the CPU socket.

Is your RAM a single 16GB stick or two 8GB sticks and what speed is it.

You could do with getting a BIOS error speaker like the one in the attachment.

Be sure to always have a keyboard attached when powering up a PC, the power on self test can fail if you don`t.

Much appreciated, I will try plugging my keyboard in nest time I try to boot it up.

No over clocking was done, I changed a few fan curves, but they’ve beem like that for years without any issues

It’s two sticks of 8gb @3200mhz (xmp profile) . I will try one stick as well when I boot it up

In retrospect I should’ve used a known reliable Psu first before my original one. But since both Psus had the same issue on boot I assumed it was the board.

In case not already aware, slot A2 for one stick of RAM.

Noticed that you visited the forum but left no update Byron, have you made any progress at all.

Whoops sorry, forgot to update been busy working. Tried all of the above with the keyboard, one stick of ram, all that jazz and nothing has changed. I think you’re right about the faulty Psu frying the cpu socket

Have you got yourself a BIOS error speaker, they cost next to nothing but are invaluable when it comes to troubleshooting.

I will look into getting one, otherwise I might have to take it in to my local go get it diagnosed.

The speaker is you least expensive option + anyone that troubleshoots computers should have one.
