Is the placement of this scotch tape is purposeful ?

Hi !
So while I was putting back together a computer I saw this scotch tape on the back of it covering some connectors, was it done purposefully ? Should I not remove it ?
It clearly wasn’t there at the start on the motherboard but this computer comes from a work office before I got it, so it probably went through the hands of an IT expert, that’s why I’m asking yall there your opinion : )

may be something left over from the original packaging, or some anti-static tape.
either way, it is serving no purpose now, so could be left as is or removed without consequence.
