CPU randomly wont work?

    I don’t know why, but whenever I try to turn my PC on, the cpu fan will turn on and just stay on and the cpu will never boot. This happens randomly maybe 1/10 chance of happening. Typically, Cpu fan typically would turn on, turn off and then everything else would boot. It hasnt been a massive issue but I dont really know whats wrong

    Sorry but you have post on a tech forum asking for help but have provided zero information about your computer or it`s hardware, this makes it impossible for anyone to even hazard a guess as to what is going on.

    Is the computer a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if a brand name, provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number for the CPU, MB, the RAM ( including the amount and speed ) add on video card if one is used and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable folk to better help you.

        The RAM is not appropriate for your CPU, AMD state here up to 3200MHz and if you have XMP enabled the RAM will get auto OCd past what the CPU can handle and the PC fall over.

        As a starting point;

        Try restoring the MBs default factory settings in the BIOS, they are sometimes listed as one of the following " factory defaults" “most stable” or on newer boards “optimized” please note that if you have both the “most stable” and the “optimized” options in the BIOS you should choose the most stable" option as in this instance the “optimized” settings are a form of overclocking that can cause instability.

        Save the new settings, exit the BIOS, restart the computer, test by using the computer as you normally would, post back with an update once you have done this.

        You should also make sure that the Windows Power Plan is set to Balanced and not High Performance or Ryzen Balanced.

          Windows powerplan is set to AMD Ryzen Balanced. Should I change to Balanced (recommended) or is it okay as it is?

          I’ve defaulted BIOS, if CPU stalls again within the next few days I’ll check again but hopefully it’ll be okay.

          Thank you!

            it’s not a question of defaulting the BIOS - your memory is set to 3600MHz but your processor can only handle up to 3200MHz.
