    IS MY GPU DEAD???

    Been having tons of pc problems, I’m convinced my GPU has actually just died at this point but if someone else who is more experienced could let me know that would be great. I have a Radeon RX 580, I’ve had it for a little over 2 years now these problems recently just started happening.

    The issues :
    1 ) My AMD driver’s crash constantly not even with a game open, just doing normal stuff or even idling.
    2 ) The display um tends to glitch out (idk if it’s necessarily “screen tearing” will include pictures.

    First thing i’d try is use “Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)” to remove all of your existing AMD drivers, and then do a clean install of amd drivers (perhaps don’t install the latest one, but one from a couple weeks/months old, perhaps the latest driver is broken.)

    If that doesn’t solve it then yeah, I’m afraid your gpu is dying.
    Such artifacts you show in the picture are usually a sign of a dying GPU, altho in my personal experiences it always started with just a handfull of pixels blurring in certain spots, or getting bright green pixels scattered all over the place (which can also be caused by a bad DVI cable, not sure if hdmi cables can cause such artifacts aswell).

    Probably a no brainer, but test out a different monitor aswell, even if it’s a TV.

        Not at all and in fact it should have been the OPs first hardware test and along with trying the present screen on another PC or notebook that has the appropriate video port.
