Asus Strix soar 7.1 power connection

I bought an Asus Strix soar 7.1 sound card years ago, found it still boxed in a cupboard, I have a supernova EVGA 1600w PSU T2 and the sound card needs a six pin connector (which is a first for me). I have a perif to molex cable, but not sure which cable to connect the perif/molex to the SC 6 pin.

where are the other cables you should have
          PCIe 9x 8pin (6+2), 5x 6pin
. Connect the 6/6+2-Pin PCI-E cables to your graphic card(s). NOTE: Do not attempt to plug an 8-Pin PCI-E cable into a 6-Pin connector without first detaching the two extra pins.

Sorry, it’s my Asus Strix soar 7.1 sound card I’m trying to attach; it has a 6 pin connection.

Post #5 still applies. You need to either find that 9x 8PIN (6+2) cable that came with your PSU or purchase one.

It’s the fact that it has VGA written on all three ends of the cable connectors that is confusing me.

The cables you posted came from where?

some display cards require power so that would make sense (as you probably know).

If you have to order a cable, make sure to contact the PSU manufacture to get the cable.

It came with enough vga cables for several PCs, was going to use the molex to attach the six pin to the sound card.

If you look at the power supply you have 9 connections labeled VGA
I have yet to see a non specialized computer that can handle 9 vga cards,
It should be fine to remove the spare 2 pins.
If you have or know someone with a multimeter you can check the output.
The spec sheet shows, EVGA - Product Specs - EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 T2, 80+ TITANIUM 1600W, Fully Modular, EVGA ECO Mode, 10 Year Warranty, Includes FREE Power On Self Tester Power Supply 220-T2-1600-X1
lookup the spec for the soundcard and it should match

Having said that. Your method should work.
