    Energy Saving

I have serious problems with my son. He means that switching off the supply of power to the pc and monitors after having shut down the PC. By switching off the current of the power supply is responible for the m.2 ssd after just 18 month. But in standby the 5 monitors and the high end pc is consuming still a lot of energy. By having a power connector which can be switched ON/OFF by wireless control I want to prevent energy consumption while the PC is in standby.

sorry Hellmut - what is the question?

with power usage, there are two schools of thought…
    1. leave it on (or asleep) and use power but reduce power cycling stress
    2. turn it completely off, save power and wear & tear but have electrical stress on parts
