highly confused on cpu max memory speeds

    heyo
i tried to understand it but no luck
i bought the cpu and the ram purely based on 3 things

    1.speed
    2.capacity
    3.occupying all 4 ram slots

    however this
    Max Memory Speed

    2x1R DDR4-3200

    2x2R DDR4-3200

    4x1R DDR4-2933

    4x2R DDR4-2667

im having a hard time interpreting
i think it should be fine

    but maby im wrong?

this is the ram i have in it
    Type

    Dual Channel (128 bit) DDR4-SDRAM

    Frequency

    1599.6 MHz (DDR4-3200) - Ratio 1:16

    Timings

    16-18-18-36-74-1 (tCAS-tRCD-tRP-tRAS-tRC-tCR)

    Slot #1 Module

    Kingston 8192 MB (DDR4-2400) - XMP 2.0 - P/N: KF3200C16D4/8GX

    Slot #2 Module

    Kingston 8192 MB (DDR4-2400) - XMP 2.0 - P/N: KF3200C16D4/8GX

    Slot #3 Module

    Kingston 8192 MB (DDR4-2400) - XMP 2.0 - P/N: KF3200C16D4/8GX

    Slot #4 Module

    Kingston 8192 MB (DDR4-2400) - XMP 2.0 - P/N: KF3200C16D4/8GX

i would love some feedback if theres something off here

    much love sky

those Kingston KF3200 sticks are not listed, but maybe I didn’t find the right CPU.

seems you aren’t alone; Anyone paired a 5800X3D with 4 sticks of RAM? - CPU - Level1Techs Forums

also, in my quick Googling, seems AMD and memory control in general is a heated discussion!

what is your actual concern with your setup?
          yay im not alone XD

mostly i want to know if my cpu kan handle the 3200mhz from the 4 sticks ram
          but i cant figure for the live of me out those and what the mean (2x1R DDR4-3200, 2x2R DDR4-3200, 4x1R DDR4-2933 , 4x2R DDR4-2667)
(those are actually my cpu max memory speeds as stated by amd(5800x3d) )

so i have no clue what apply,s to me

if its not hitting those 3200 speeds on the cpu i rather lower it to 3000mhz and have a little bit of a latency reduction
but it all depends what my ram classifies as

          i think 4 sticks of 8 gig dual channel == 4x2r???
which would mean im leaving a huge amount of latency for no speed gains at all

so yeah do you know how my ram is called in those value,s???

that would help me a bunch

          love sky

from that bit a Googling I did, sounds like people had better luck and speeds only using two sticks.
            have you tried that?

what RAM speeds are you getting with 4 sticks?
            then try with 2 sticks?

are you noticing BSoD’s, or just generally crap performance?

what are you using to get the RAM speeds from - BIOS, a Gigabyte utility, or some 3rd party program?

no im getting the 3200mhz (xmp)
and it runs like butter and i do all in the bios and check in different apps
just thinking its too much for the cpu

imma try to run the ram without xmp at base speed
4x2R DDR4-2667 < i think this one is it then

and see if the latency improves
cus i kinda don,t wanna run 2 sticks

any recomondations for benching latancy of ram and its impact on performance?

as with Macs, I have tended to stay away from AMD over the years.
                let’s see if others have any suggestions - @PeterOz @Evan Omo @georgeks @Pyro

First thing you need to do is turn XMP off
Turn your power performance from high to balanced.
High performance is for laptop rather than desktop computers.
I think you should be using
                  4x2R
                  DDR4-2667
@phillpower2 is good at explaining ram.

Crucial had here a nice article about memory.
I have found out -through not always painless experimentation…-that pushing things to their limits is not the best option.
