Hello, the PSU in question is Corsair rm750x. I got this PSU twice now, first I had to rma because electric noise and coil whine. Now the second does the same thing. I tried removing GPU, RAM, fans but it still did the noises. Should I go with different PSU or whats going on?
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
MB: ASUS Prime b550a
Ram: 16gb hyperx fury
GPU: GeForce GTX 1050ti
Yeah it would be a good idea to go ahead and do the exchange or a new one. May want to go with something else.. 2 bad psu’s are a given to go to something else for me..
It seemed fine after getting the new different one, but it does the same after a day. Tried removing graphics card, rams, fans but it still does it. Im truly lost.
I dont know where else it could be coming from, since yesterday after connecting the new one there were no problems.
If you are saying that the noise is present after disconnecting all the hardware it would mean that the noise is present when the computer is under no load whatsoever, easy test for this.
Remove the PSU from the computer altogether then test it by following the steps in the Corsair video here no need to connect a system fan either, just get the PSU to activate and leave it sitting there to see if any unusual noises are present.
Something to note is that the sound doesnt start with the computer. It starts about 3 seconds later. Also after having psu out and starting pc, it definitely is something else causing it.
