Vintage A Matic UE-150HB no power

This is out of my am386 dx. Not turning on. Fan starts to turn, then stops. Noticed resistor clipped at R17. Was told maybe factory removed it. Trying to figure out what’s wrong.

I only noticed one and it wasn’t blown.

My next guess would be that transformer.

Not yet. I’ll try to check that transformer today.

OK, I’m having trouble. I set my meter to ohms but mine doesn’t say OL. It just reads 1. Whatever. Can you explain what pins I should test at? Here’s a picture of the transformer area.

I am assuming that those 2 square pins are to the transformer..

what is age of PSU?
what is the wattage?
show a pic of the motherboard connector end.

I wouldn’t even be playing around with the innards of a PSU, no serviceable parts inside (apart from a fuse).
R17 being snipped off is concerning, but may be from a bad batch found while still in the factory but after production.

why not just source a new PSU?

With the missing resistor you are going to be having trouble working out what is going wrong

150 watts. Built in 87. A new power supply wouldn’t fit or have the connectors.

$48.00 for a replacement.
