Hey all, so I have a pc with a ryzen 7 5800x, tuff 570 mobo. And a gigabyte 3080 gpu. I bought and switched a zotac Trinity 3090oc into it. Nothing. Doesn’t even turn the monitor on. I’ve checked cables, monitor, and swapped back to 3080 and does just fine still. Shouldn’t need to download any drivers right? 3080-3090 swap should be fine I’d think. But maybe not? Especially since different brands? I’ve no clue. But I’m out a solid chunk of change if this gpu turns out to be faulty. Thank you for any advice or help! It’s worth noting that after I switched ports, several times, and powered the pc off and on several times, it did power up once and come on, I played a game on the 3090 for 2+ hours, before I went to bed and shut it off as normal. Next day, back to nothing.
Switched gpu’s now black screen?

- Need PSU make and model.
- When changing the GPU yes have to uninstall the old card driver first then install the new card drivers.
Can you access the system in safe mode?
Use DDU to remove the old drivers and then you can use the install media to install the new drivers.
Download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) Official - Remove AMD/NVIDIA/INTEL Graphics Drivers Cleanly - DDU is a driver removal utility that helps you completely uninstall AMD/NVIDIA graphics card drivers and packages from your system, leaving no leftovers behind, including registry keys, folders, files, and driver store. -

Would also suggest that you reseat the card and power.
Does the system produce any beep codes you may need to purchase a motherboard speaker since they no longer are attached.
Tye a different monitor, if more than one only one and or different ports on the card.
You state that

If so, use this card to uninstall the drivers install the new card and see if that helps having the driver ready to install.Comment
