    Battery issues

Hi guys my last post was to upgrade win7 to win10. I have successfully completed the upgrade. thanks for the help

Can you help me with battery issues.

My original battery with the laptop died years ago which I still have. After upgrading the system i decided to purchase a replacement from Ebay. Obviously its not a genuine battery.
Genuine battery says replace with HP Spare - 484170-001 which on the ebay site said that is what it is.

Ebay battery works with initial charge but it will not accept charge from power adapter when plugged into 240 power.

If the battery is removed the mains 240 volt will work the laptop.

My power adaptors output is 19.5V 3.34Amps.

what warranty is offered by the eBay seller?
I’d be taking this up with him.

with ‘new’ laptop batteries, just because they claim to be new, or ‘still in box’ is only meaningful if the cells within the battery are freshly manufactured.
once a battery is assembled, used or unused, makes no difference, the lithium within the cells starts to oxidise over time and the longer that time is, the less charge a cell can hold.

your best option is to get your battery re-packed with new cells or get a battery from a reputable seller that has a one year guarantee.

was there ever an issue charging the old battery with the mains power when the battery was in the laptop?
obviously the power pack is working, so we can count that out.
that only leaves the ‘new’ battery, or the Battery Management System inside the ‘new’ battery or the power circuit board in the laptop.
and the order written are my guesses in order of possibility.
