PC turns off unexpectedly when playing games or stressing GPU following CPU upgrade

Hey guys, first time on here so sorry if I don’t include all of the relevant info right away. Here are my specs:

    MSI X470 Gaming Plus mobo
    AMD Ryzen 9 5900x
    GeForce RTX 2080 super
    2x16 DDR4 RAM
iCue H100i elite cappelix liquid cooler
    EVGA 750W PSU

Everything was working totally fine a few days ago, until I tried to upgrade my CPU to this Ryzen 9 5900x. Once I installed it, everything seemed to work fine at first, but then my PC started crashing. Over and over again. I would get the blue screen saying something went wrong, and it would crash. After a lot of troubleshooting I found that my Temps on the CPU were getting pretty high (idling at 90°C) so I got the cooler. Now it sits anywhere from 40-60°C. I though I had fixed my problem until last night I tried to play a game and my PC started crashing again, but differently.

Now when it crashes, my displays go completely black and my fans go full speed. I can’t hear anything, and can’t interact in any way. When I try to turn my PC off, the power button doesn’t work. I have to manually flip the power switch or pull the plug to restart. This happens every time I boot up a game, and also happened while doing a furmark test.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? I’ve updated my chipset drivers, my LAN drivers, updated my BIOS (required to make the new CPU compatible), tried to update my VGA drivers but they wouldn’t work (don’t know if I need them, don’t have integrated graphics), and have tried completely wiping my graphics card drivers with DDU and re-download them. I’m at my wits end with this, and have tried everything I can think of to fix it. I don’t know how to post any kind of logs or anything, I’m not super technical with this stuff and have never had to go through this level of troubleshooting, so I’m a bit lost in this whole process.

Did you properly clean off the old thermal compound and then correctly reapply a fresh amount of a good brand such as Arctic or Grizzly.

Do you have a link to the RAM that you have so that we can check the specs.

What is the exact model name or number, 750W sounds great but only if the specs meet the requirements and the PSU is still in warranty.
