When pc turned on, the image hangs on the logo of the motherboard with a certain (working) video card

When i turn on a PC with a 750ti video card from asus, the motherboard logo is displayed on the monitor, the speaker beeps once, the keyboard lights up, then nothing happens, no matter how long you wait, no sounds of windows turning on and so on. It happened suddenly when I was working with the browser, the image hung, I turned it off by pressing the button, turned it on and got this result. The PC has been in use since 2017, the components have not changed, dust was cleaned every 4-5 months.

750ti from asus was tested on two other computers, it works properly.

PC works fine with 3060, integrated graphics card, 750ti from palit, AMD 2600 Pro.

In all cases, the speaker beeps the same way once.

Connecting another working 650W power supply does not change anything.

I tried resetting the bios to factory settings, pulling out the battery for a few minutes, installing a bios update from the motherboard website via M-Flash, deleting drivers via DDU, connecting other monitors, turning on (in the case and without) only with the processor, RAM and video card connected , rearrange the bar of RAM, clean the contacts of the video card and RAM with an eraser, examined the components of the motherboard for defects (did not find it).

Motherboard 760GA-P43/FX (MSI-7699).

Very strange behaviour. What do you think? How to solve something like this?

damn, that’s a curly one!

I would be dismantle the whole rig and re-assemble onto a piece of cardboard.
assemble the core components needed to get into BIOS.
get that working first.
then add the drive and try and get into Windows.

Yeah, I tried that. Same.
By the way, quite recently the PC started up just once in the original configuration (with 750ti from asus), but then I accidentally touched the power supply cable and everything turned off (the power supply only works when the cable is in a certain position). During the next turns on, it hangs on the logo again.

if you can’t get into BIOS, then that suggests the motherboard is faulty.

so you have two 750ti GPU card?
one from Palit which allows the PC to boot into Windows, but not when using the 750ti GPU from ASUS?

Yes, two 750ti GPU card. One from Palit works fine, I can get into BIOS, Windows, etc. One from ASUS hangs on the motherboard logo no matter what I do.

you have some sort of incompatibility with the ASUS card and your motherboard.

check your BIOS update has worked?
how old is the ASUS card?

incompatibility that appeared after some time of correct work?
BIOS update did not work, the video card is in use since 2017

ah yes, I forgot it had been working.

in that case, something has failed.
motherboard? ASUS GPU? - don’t know.

if it works fine with the Palit GPU, why not use that?
are the other specs of the Palit the same as the ASUS card?

Palit is not mine, i borrowed it from my friend for testing. We can’t swap because my friend’s PSU doesn’t have a 6-pin cable for GPU. Palit version does not have a connector for additional power, unlike the one from ASUS.

If the problem is in the motherboard, why then did the PC boot normally once with ASUS after the problem appeared and work fine with other GPUs?

And another question: could it be that a loosely inserted PSU power cable (only works in one position) affected the motherboard work?

It’s hard to diagnose without having hands-on.
maybe it’s a PSU issue.
can’t rule out hardware going south either.

let’s get some more eyes.

Do you have another 6-pin GPU connector?

You didn’t mention if the PSU is modular, but if it is, are the cables fully seated and connected in the right direction? (One end should be labelled PSU and the other CPU/GPU or something of that sort).

That is my guess

Make and model of the PSU?

What CPU do you have in the system?

When the system is working could you post a speccy?

So other can assist let get a speccy report.

Do not forget to post the make and model of the PSU if this is a desktop.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Have you reset the BIOS to default?
Did you just add the graphics card without cleanly removing the previous graphics card drivers? If you remove the card does the pc boot with basic display driver?

PSU is not modular so I don’t have another 6-pin GPU connector
