replacing ram

Hi. I bought a streaming computer two years ago but I didn’t have a chance to stream with it since then. I had only planned on streaming console games at that point so I didn’t go for anything that would handle a PC game. I want to start streaming from it in the next few months. I want to start with some console games and at some point move to a few PC games, including Red Dead Redemption 2 (I have it through Epic.) I was testing to see what the CPU and Memory usage is while I have OBS and RDR2 running at the same time. I can’t remember what the CPU was but the memory was bad and pretty much sat between 80% to 90%. RDR2 was also choppy in OBS but it looked fine on the game screen. I think I need better/more RAM but like most people can’t afford to spend a ton. I’ll give the specs of everything I have and was wondering if someone could help me to figure out what the best RAM for it may be for my small budget (about $100US, yes it’s very small). I have a few I was looking at, I’m concerned about getting a brand/item that isn’t compatible. I really don’t understand how the different numbers affect the products. Like I know lower latency is faster and higher mhz is faster (or at least that’s what I understand, maybe I’m wrong) but I don’t know how much it actually affects performance or why there’s 4 numbers to the latency. And also, it is better to keep the same mhz/latency and get max memory or is it better to get more mhz and only a little more memory? I may be overthinking this but that’s normal. I overthink everything.

1. This first one is closer to the price point I’m looking for. It would double my RAM and from what I can tell, it’s within my computer’s specs. I know GIGABYTE has some compatible options with G.Skill but this isn’t on their list as far as I could find, maybe I missed it? if Gigabyte motherboards and G-Skill memory had incompatibility issues, check for a BIOS upgrade to see if they have fixed it.

as to memory choice, as long as it’s listed in the QVL, I’d be going for 4 x 16GB sticks rather than 2 x 32GB sticks myself.

It’s not for financial gain because I don’t plan on making it as a streamer. I will never get an income off of it. But this is helping me to understand my equipment better and fix an issue, which is the point. It’s fine if you don’t want to add anything.
