    GPU power

Don’t think this is the right section for it, but I couldn’t find it, but I want to know something about monitors and gpus. I have a 1440p 27"monitor, and it’s taking a hit on performance. My specs are
    11th gen I9
    32gb ram
    AMD 6950XT 16GB
    1tb SSD

I think average temperature range for gaming on the GPU is between 60 to 70c, but it gets past 80 on games that are absolutely not resource heavy. I had a 1080p monitor before the one I have now, and I never had an issue with performance. Now I get stutters and a super hot GPU. I know 1440p uses more power from the GPU, but is it really enough to make your computer overheat? My room isn’t hot and it doesn’t have any dust.

Hi there Toaster and Welcome to PCHF.

I hope your selected user name has nothing to do with the GPU temperature.

According to the AMD forums here “All RX 6000 series GPU cards have a Maximum Operating Temperature of 110c.”
Have a look on the AMD link.
