When I power my PC the screen glitches with blue stirpes and messed up resolution.

Horizontal blue stripes everywhere and lowest possible resolution I think that was the case with the first time I turned it on today and a few hours later when I powered it on it took a really long time for the monitor to turn on and it was black screen all the time.

No clue about my power supply specs, it was 2 years old at best since I needed a new one to run my graphics card.

Yeah you would need to open the case and read the label on that psu unit.

Can you share a picture of what you are experiencing.

Do you have another cable that you can you use? Can you replace the cable and see if it does anything?

Can you try another port that is on the monitor?

Can you try the display port that is connected to the motherboard?

Do you have another working monitor that you can try to replace to see if it does anything?

If you tried the above and you still have the same issue then there could be another more serious issue which we can talk about.

Is this a new computer or a new monitor? Anything changed recently?

Did you try any troubleshooting steps already?

I tried cleaning the pc today, got rid of a bunch of dust from inside of it with a leaf blower.

My circoumstance is that I was moving house recently and for the first two days afer the move the PC was functioning perectly fine as it did before, but then when I turned it on the screen glitched with blue stripes all over and a lowest possible resolution, then whenever I turn it on all of the fans are turning, the power supply, processor and graphics card are functioning, there just isn’t anything displaying in the monitor. that’s it. I tried to check all the cables and they are properly holding in place, so… amma be giving it to my local technician tomorrow when his place finally opens back up after christmass. Guess that we will see then what was causing the issue, thanks for the help then.

I would still trying using different ports, cables, monitor, just to rule it out if you have the resources.

Is the monitor not turning on at all at this point, or like if you try to turn it on, it just goes back to black as if there was nothing to display? (Like power button indicates that monitor is off)

Assuming you still want our help, could you provide the make and model of the computer if it is a prebuilt or the make and model of the motherboard if it is a custom built computer? If it is not a display issue, then there could be damaged hardware potentially.

How do the fans act when you turn the computer on? Does it constantly stay on, or does it turn on and off and just loops? Are there any led lights on the PC or motherboard, if so, what color and where is it, and is it blinking? (Maybe take pictures)

If you aren’t comfortable going inside your computer then you can send it to a technician. I would just swap cables or monitor if you can with a known working one and try different ports because that’ll be the first thing the tech does.

I only have one monitor that i’ve been using for 8 years now, it does turn on when I power up the PC but it stays on a black screen, the PC is custom built and I don’t remember the mother board, the fans keep on turning consistantly, no led lights, also no other cables so I can’t check that.
