Motherboard compatible with a thunderbolt expansion ?

Hello everyone, a friend of mine who stopped playing music gave me his apollo twin x duo sound card which only works in thunderbolt 3, only I don’t think my motherboard has a thunderbolt port. I would like to know if buying a thunderbolt expansion will be compatible with my motherboard which is an asus strix z270f gaming

No it does not have Thunderbolt and it does not have a Thunderbolt header to connect a cable.

I contacted Asus about this. I only got though to the hotdesk support guys though.

The Answer was I could definitely not use their Thunderbolt 2 (or 3) addon card if I did not have a thunderbolt header available on the board.
