I was hoping to update on results today as I received the adapter and I thought I already had the DP cable to use with it but I totally forgot that my exiting DP cable which I frequently use to plug in my laptop with has a mini-DP plug at the laptop end, whereas desktop DP ports are full size. So I am getting the right DP cable tomorrow and will test it in the evening. I’ll post my result either tomorrow (Friday) or Saturday.

OK, I received the cable. Plugged into the HDMI to DP adapter.
Success, I now have 1440p 60hz mode back.

So in summary, it was all down to not realising my new motherboard’s DVI port was only capable of up to 1920 X 1200 mode. DVI ports need to be a dual link to achieve a higher resolution which my previous dedicated GPU had. But this mainboard does have a HDMI 3.2 port and so with a HDMI to DP adapter and DP cable, all is well. So this might be a useful case for future troubleshooting in future if similar cases arise for you guys.
Best wishes.Comment

Pleasure to contribute my problem case guys, and thanks for a couple of utilities I didn’t know about. I like Speccy, I was using Belarc prior but Speccy shows temperatures too, and a more readable structure, I like that! Also the Driver uninstall resource looks to be a useful tool to use for future internal component changes.
I can also see a nice useful resource section on this forum which I look forward to exploring.
Take care for now!Comment
