Gpu usage low and varies a lot

HI to all
So,as the title already says,i have a problem with low gpu usage.First let me list my specs

I7 3770
Radeon sapphire+nitro rx 580 8 gb
8 gb ram
1tb hdd(dont really know the name or brand of it)
Win10 pro with all the latest drivers, gpu drivers included

I know this cpu bottlenecks this gpu but not by much,i watched videos of people playing games with the same system setup and not having such issues.
One of the issues i also have i get a lot of stutter in games,i didn’t test much games yet,but what i tested is for example,in farming simulator 22 the gpu usage varies a lot between 0,30,70, and 100 and that’s where the stuttering occurs while the cpu in this particular game doesn’t ever go over 20% usage, it looks like i could be able to play this game at constant 60 fps if not for the stuttering.
I know that this game has a lot of issues by itself but still,i should be able to play this game without any problems

While for example on the game the hunter call of the wild the gpu usage is almost always at 100%,if not at least it doesn’t vary that much, same with the cpu, around 50-65% stable fps and i dont get any stutter there.

The gpu usage varies a lot on older games too unless i put all settings to the highest then the usage is somewhat ok but it doesn’t stutter since the fps is always high

I tried adding another hdd for extra storage, the 1tb one is honestly in pretty bad shape,it is loud, scratching etc.I know that ssd’s are prefered for newer games but i dont have any, could that be the problem or is it my ram, which i believe it is bad since it is only 8gb with 4 sticks x 2gb?

What could i try first to fix this,go for more ram, preferably 2x8gb and upgrade it at the same time to 16 instead of only 8,try a different cpu with this gpu to see if the cpu is not faulty by itself, the only spare cpu i have is an i5 3570k which would cause a bigger bottleneck paired with the rx 580 by some logic, right?

Any advice or help would be much appreciated

I just want to add that the temps are also ok,both cpu and gpu, while the gpu runs at 100% the max it gets is 75c,cpu is around the same temperature,so it’s not throttling, also checked the ram and they’re all 1333mhz which is bad i suppose?

let’s get some information about the system.

What is the brand and model name or number of the PSU.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Minimum PSU Recommendation 500 W

Since you are going to be gamming with the system 8 GB RAM is really not sufficient you would be better off with 16 GB or more.

According to the CPU this is that the RAM should be

So,i can go with 1600mhz ram when i upgrade to more RAM?

I will try my best to answer all this,im sorry but all the speccy app does for me when i go “publish snapshot” is,it gives a bunch of letters to copy instead of a url so i saved a snapshot and uploaded it to zyppyshare if that’s ok with you,so you can download:

Do you need the other specs too or only “summary” can you browse trough those other tabs like cpu, motherboard etc with just the file i provided?

The psu is branded “ARLT” it is a 600W psu with a 1x8 pin connector and a 1x6 connector, the rx 580 i have uses both connectors although i saw on the internet the 1x6 isn’t necessary if you are not going to overclock the gpu

I agree that i should go for at least 16gb of ram,8gb is not enough, can you also tell me why does the speccy say 666.5 MHz while in the task manager under ram tab it says 1333 mhz,in “cmd” wmic memorychip get speed it also lists it as 1333mhz,I hope managed to provide enough information,if you need more just tell me

Fixed, somehow the in game settings were set to lock the game at 60fps in that game that i had a lot of stuttering which for some reason didn’t utilize the full gpu %,now it is constantly at 99-100%,i still get occasional stutter but that is to be expected with this cpu paired with this gpu.The gpu usage is good in other games too, some games are more cpu heavy, some gpu heavy so it still varies but not as it used to do and there will always be some bottleneck between this cpu and gpu

One more question,is 75c too hot for this gpu in a room with approximately 30-35c temperature?(that’s the temperature it shows in the task manager for the gpu while idle)the correct room temperature would be something between 20-25 or 28

Since I do not click on unknown links for anyone, I cannot tell you.

Might try booting the system in safe mode and see if you can create the link. Will have to save it to notepad then once the system is rebooted to normal mode then copy and paste it from there to a post.
