FPS Drop in all graphic intensive games

    Hey there!

So I am having an issue with FPS dropping in games like CoD MW2 and WoW. It will jump around from 50-150 FPS.

My PC was around 6 years old so I figured I would just go ahead and build a new one. So I bought a new Mobo, CPU, Graphics Card, RAM, and M.2 hard drive.

Installed everything, loaded windows, downloaded CoD MW2 and the SAME issue is happening with all the new hardware.

I went through all the setting configurations to improve the performance but none of them solved my problem.

I checked the performance when I’m in a game and it shows my CPU utilization is 60-80% but my GPU is hardly being used at all. It should be like 96%!

I already checked and disabled the onboard integrated graphics so that’s not the issue. I uninstalled and reinstalled graphics drivers as well. Nothing.

How is it that the same issue can be happening with two completely different rigs? Internet isn’t an issue at a steady 600MB no packet loss.

So I ask, what am I missing? There is clearly some sort of a bottleneck that is causing my GPU to be under utilized. But I can’t figure out what it is and what would be in common with the old rig and new.

Any ideas? PC specs of the new rig below:

Motherboard: ASRock Z790 Pro RS Intel LGA 1700 ATX

    RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5-5200

    Graphics: MSI NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ventus 3X Overclocked Triple-Fan 12GB GDDR6 PCIe 4.0

CPU: Intel Core i9-13900K Raptor Lake 3.0GHz Twenty Four-Core LGA 1700

Hard Drive: WD Blue SN570 1TB TLC 3D NAND PCIe Gen 3 x4 NVMe M.2
