Stuck on bios

I have just purchased a new hdd as my old one had a virus on it, I have plugged it all in the same way as the last one but I cannot get past the bios at all. What do I do?

What steps have you done prior to putting in the new hdd?

Well I took out the power and sata out from the old one and have switched it out with the new one I got, I haven’t done anything else but won’t let me get past bios.

Did you install the OS on the new Hdd?

No I dont think so how do I do that.

What OS are you using? Just to mention here you can format that old drive to get rid of that virus and start over.

I want to use this new one as it has a lot more space on it so im good thanks. Also i am kind of new to this stuff what is an OS

Ok you can in the future use that old hdd after formatting as a storage drive.. OS is what operating system are you using example ( win 11 - win10) etc.

Now we need your complete pc spec’s name and model with model number as well.

Sorry i was away for a day or two there im back now and i have realised that i am on windows 11 home. I have my old hdd still in and there appears to be no virus on it anymore but i cannot play the games on my pc without getting the BSOD or my PC completely crashing.

We could check the old hdd to make sure there is no virus/malware on it. If you wanted.
