some things to check and think about doing.

Go into the BIOS see if the M2 is listed.

Is there anything on that drive?

Have you looked in Disk Manager to see if it is there?

Making sure to take all the precautions reseat the M2.

I have had to boot system without devices connected to get the system to re recognize it properly.

Yea so it is in the bios as a boot option
There are some adobe programs and video footage stuff on the drive, nothing essential but still
It isn’t listed in the disk manager
I’ve tried reinstalling the m.2 before but that didn’t work, should I turn it on without the driver installed and then reinstall it?

Make sure to follow proper procedures when doing this.

Have you checked Device Manager to see if it is listed there?

Create a new user see if after you log in with that user if the drive shows.

The other thing that may work is loading the system in safe mode.

Someone already suggested that and it didn’t work

Have you tried a DISM and SFC?

Other than that, the drive may need to be reseated so the system can recognize it and or replaced.

Okay, so I did the system file checker and it says it repaired the corrupted files

                    Did you preform the DISM?

Are things corrected and working now?

Drive may have at that time passed.

You could also try using a live version of Linux to see if that sees the drive. If so, retrieve whatever data you can.

Can also take it to a repair shop and have them diagnose it.

I did the DISM and the SFC and they both said the operations were successful

who knows what DriverFix has done.

I’d be doing a Reset This PC - first trying the option “keep my files”.
                        failing that, reset keeping nothing.
                        backup your personal files first!

Or perhaps a system restore to a point prior to the driver update>?
