Pc power cycling multiple times before booting

Hello,
Since I built my pc in 2015 i always had a problem: it power cycles before booting. It’s weird because it doesn’t always happen the same way, sometimes it power cycles 2 times, sometimes 3 or even 10 and from time to time it doesn’t power cycle at all. I tried a bios update (didn’t work), I tested the ram and it’s good, I changed power supply (didn’t work), I even bought a brand new ssd and put a fresh install of windows on it and it didn’t work. At this point I don’t really know what to do anymore. My specs are:
• Mobo: Asus rog Maximus VII hero
• CPU: I5 4690k
• Ram: 8gb (4x2) Corsair Vengeance ddr3
• Integrated GPU
• PSU corsair vs 650w
• 120gb Crucial SSD

Do you hear any beeps and or sounds?

Let’s get a speccy report

Do not forget to post the make and model of the PSU if this is a desktop.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Maybe even a Minitoolbox may shed some light

You will need to download to a working system then use an external device to run on the affected system.
Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop. Right click on the file and select Run as Admin

Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options.

Select all

Click on Go.

copy and paste the contents of the file called MTB.txt or attach the file to your next post.

No

For the speccy report I’ll post it here as soon as possible since I’m using another PC at the moment.

I have also attached photos of the components if they can help in any way.

From where and how was the media created?

Could be a corrupted disk and or drive used.

On what system?

way to small for Windows 10 you should be using a 250-500 GB minimum. Even the 250 GB is pushing it.

I downloaded windows media creation tool on my main pc and used a 8gb sandisk usb stick to ten reinstall from scratch Windows on the pc we’re talking about. I honestly don’t think the OS or the ssd is the problem because it power cycles even if all the drives are disconnected (in this case only this 120gb ssd).

It’s currently being used only for emails and some web browsing, so very light work.

SDD still small yet can upgrade later.

Does the power button flash color any pattern?

Can you access the BIOS and make sure that the RAM is set to XMP. If it is turn off to see if that helps.

You created the USB on a different system?
Could be the USB drive.

Have you tried a different power source?

Look at getting a speaker for the motherboard since it does not appear to come with one.

I took out the cmos battery for 10min, so the bios should have default settings, which means that xmp is most likely disabled (I’m going to check that just to make sure)

Honestly I have no idea, but tomorrow I’ll make a video that shows the problem and the speccy report.

Yes, no difference.

Yeah, if we cannot solve the problem I’ll get one soon.

Yes I did, but as I said earlier, I don’t think this is the problem, because even with no drives attached the problem is still there.

the only thing that has not been ruled out is the motherboard and CPU.

how is the system doing since you put it back together?

Also, before you put it back in the case assemble it outside on a thick cardboard and see if it still happens there.

Might also try bypassing the power switch and see if that may be the cause.

When you did the reinstall of windows you did install the drivers starting with the chipset?

How is the system running and did you try what I suggested in Post # 8

Install them and see how it goes from there.

would wait and see if it starts power cycling again.
