    Extreme screen flicker/Lagos

I’m currently trying to get my 3080 to work, however prior to any driver updates I get flicker. Once I start the driver updates it gets a partial way and crashes which leads to it no longer loading beyond the ASUS screen. It also gets hot as it doesn’t seem to want to run the fans, only on initi hooting of the system.
I previously had a GTX 980 Installed and it worked flawlessly. I also had the 3080 in my other build and it also worked flawlessly…and still does. But the new build doesn’t appear to want to accept the 3080. First I assumed maybe it was the PSU, So I tried my Seasonic 750W from my other PC and no result change. I’ve tried different monitors and HDMI/display port cables. Swapped back to the 980 and again, fired up no problem. I’ve reseated everything multiple times, though it should all be fine as it’s works with the 980.
So, I’m stuck, my only thought is maybe the Gen3 PCIe capable riser cable might be the issue, though in my research it apparently should not be an issue.

Any help here would be amazing, I’ve spent hours cable managing then pulling it all out, just to have to do it all over and over in this tiny case .

    Specs of issue build:

    Windows 10
    Tower: Raijintech Ophion
Motherboard: ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming-ITX/ax ATX
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming
    Ram: Corsair Vengance RGB Pro 16GB (2 X 8GB)
PSU: Corsair CX-F RGB Series CX750F 80 Plus Bronze
    Storage: Team Group MP33 M.2 2280 1 TB

    Thanks!!

That PSU should not be used with anything more than the most basic of add on GPUs, you need a 750W Gold efficiency rated PSU from one of the following, the Corsair RM range, EVGA or Seasonic, any PSU must still be covered by warranty.

Which power supply do you need?

Using adapters of any sort will 100% make a difference, sometimes only slightly but sometimes pretty much a nightmare.

Post a link to the type of riser that you are using.

Moved to internal hardware as the issue is not BSOD related.

Hello, thanks for the quick reply, thought I was going to get an notification when I recieved feedback. Anyway,

Ophion case comes with Riser cable (250mm length) - RJK PCIe 16x Gen3 (I couldn’t find the exact model on the website. I attached the link to the case specs, which includes “the cable???‍♂️”.
          https://www.raijintek.com/en/products_detail.php?ProductID=90)

I should note that I’m no expert with PC’s so the PSU was purchased for appearance/fully modular purposes???.

I emailed ASRock and they replied with the following after I asked if the MOBO required a BIOS update:

"Please check your RTX3080 video bios from the factory.

We tested Asus RTX3070 without no issue found."

I’ve looked into it and apparently my GPU has a BIOS update as per "Precision X1 Software…but I’m very unfemiliar with that so Im holding off for more info.

In the mean time I’m going to see if maybe I can pull off the motherboard and see if I can connect without the riser…but I don’t think this card will fit.
