Ruined GPU and x16 PCI Slot

    Hi,

Quick story time.. last night I dropped liquid in my PC started smoking and it shortcircuited. Burnt the first few pins of my GPU and burnt my x16 PCI slot.
My questions are what is the best I can do here? I think the GPU is not revivable is it? I mean its a few pins that are burnt if I am correct that is not repairable is it? I can attach some pictures.
I tested the motherboard the motherboard is completely fine without GPU. It gives 3 long and 3 short beeps meaning that it just cannot detect the GPU no smoking or spark or whatsoever without GPU in it. Do I need to buy a whole new GPU? Do I need to buy a whole new MOBO..? Those are my main questions.

    Thanks!

    definitely new mobo time!
the short circuit has fried that GPU and scorched the mobo to the point of damaging the solder paths near that slot.
while it may appear to be fully functional now. something later while fail, like another slot or whatever those nearby chips control.

in my experience, most spills are not just clean water, but some sort of sugary or acidic liquid which slowly gets worse.

I see! No point in getting the slot fixed then right?
Also… sadly enough 1 year old 2070 super New GPU? I was looking at a 3060 that was on a decent price new.
I am gonna go to a technician when I wake up just to double check. Else I am gonna call HP if they can send me a replacement motherboard.. I am still in warranty so I might get away with it. But guessing GPU is completely no go too. Just sell the motherboard, gpu and psu for pretty much parts only. And then replace them (Replace PSU with 550W so it can handle the 3060)

If you are chasing another PSU, 550w may only just be adequate.
Go for 80+ gold and at least 750w, afterall the PSU should last 10 years at least, in that time you’ll go through a couple of GPU’s.
