A short circuit would have properly broken something as in hosed the PC beyond repair.

Create a new System Restore point before you do anything.

Get yourself a USB thumbdrive that you can use for downloading the following drivers to.

The drivers that you should download and install from here are in the order that they should be installed.

    (1) Chipset.

    (2) SATA.

    (3) VGA.

    (4) Wireless.

Post back with an update after installing the drivers and restarting the PC a couple of times.

I installed the Chipset and the SATA, but came across a problem when trying to install the VGA. After the pre-setup, it makes you agree to its TOS, then tries to configure. But it gave me an error message immediately.
“No driver was found that can be installed on the current device. Exit Code: 8”

Skip the VGA, install the Wireless, restart and see if you are able to connect to your router.

I installed the wireless and nothing has changed while trying to connect to the router. I’ve tried resetting the network and typing in the password but it doesn’t register the network. I also took a quick look at the device manager and saw that the drive doesn’t say ‘wireless’ on it, just Wi-Fi.

Wi-Fi is what it should be saying.

Do you not have a handbook for your wireless router, that will tell you how to connect the router to the PC with the router having a button on it that you press that then gets the router to scan for new devices, i this case your PC.

No, the Comcast guy who came and installed the Router didn’t leave anything for use besides a password back when he did it. I did find and press the button on the back of the router. When I looked at my internet networks again, I saw it say it was trying to find the networks settings, but it failed and requested the password anyways. Which I did give it, but it just said it cannot connect to this network.

We don`t have Comcast here in the UK so cannot really help with any instructions based on personal knowledge, lots of info at the links here

The wireless device is detected by both Speccy and Device Manager so the issue appears to be purely with the Comcast service.

I’m honestly not sure what else to do about it, cause I’ve tried a few of the google search results before. I’m just gonna chalk that up as a ‘cant solve’ issue.
Are there any other drivers that are missing? Does everything else look solid? I just swapped the ether cable over to try update windows to see if that would help with the internet too (it didnt). The entire time it kept making small vibrations like a phone getting messages. Also, during the resets I noticed the light on the motherboard was orange (not blinking) next to the Boot option. Isnt that supposed to be green?

Question for you, was this computer bought for gaming.

Leave the drivers alone for now.

The light you mention, they go green once the computer has passed the power on self test, some boards the LEDs go red and then go out altogether.

Yes this computer was something I’ve been saving up for 6 years to buy and play games/stream on. I’ve been trying to learn about computers when picking the parts and now giving myself a crash course in trying to fix this thing.
The motherboard light goes orange when I start it up (it then goes out), which I guess is normal? But all of this random vibrating is concerning to me. I think its the HHD which I read is not supposed to vibrate. When I download something it gives a constant pattern of vibrations. I’m not sure if this is supposed to happen cause it certainly is not the fan.
Last night I’ve also had a long thought about returning the PC. I’m very paranoid about the vibrations, the legacy download and potential missing drivers. Another issue is this windows was downloaded using a DVD version which I need to buy a USB DVD drive to do any support for it.
If anything, I think my BIGGEST fear is losing the internal monitor signal again. It happens when I go into sleep mode on the BIOS screen and god help me if it happens again for some other stupid reason. I know your giving me your professional take on the mechanical side of things. But can I also ask your opinion on this? Does this computer sound like it wont break down on me randomly?

You don`t want to be using wireless when gaming so that is a plus.

The very least that you should be doing is contacting the seller and let them know of the strange noises.

You can but no one can give you that assurance, you have paid for a warranty for this rig so use it rather than potentially losing it by tinkering with stuff that is off limits.

                            Update:
I did a lot of testing to find that vibration (it happens every single time I entered a webpage now) and found out that its the cooling system causing the vibration. Its either the fans or the large cable that runs along the backside of the computer (I think its the same thing?). I tried going into the BIOS and switching it to silent mode to see if that would calm it down, but it only made it worse.

The graphics card is also very hot. This thing has a ‘fan stop’ feature for when the fans aren’t needed but I looked online and apparently the fans on the bottom are supposed to temporarily start up when you restart and it doesn’t do that. Could it be a missing drive? Bare in mind, the graphics card was not getting hot before the fan vibration began a week ago. I think…

Also when I restart, I noticed the light on the motherboard next to cpu has gone from orange to red. Although I think the boot light was originally orange, but now has gone to green. Either way red was not there before and is now there.

                              Ryan,

As per my reply #27, you really should not be needing to have these worries, you have a warranty and we at PCHF have a legal obligation to advise members as to their best course of action, act on your warranty if you have concerns, see what the seller says then come back.
