    Am i screwed?

While I was away from my house my daughter (4) was playing around my PC. We live in a very small apartment so our kids have the living room area to really only play in, and that’s where my PC happens to be. So for my PC setup, I have a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse that require charging. In order to keep the charger nearby, I run the cord from the back of the PC plugged into a USB slot to behind my monitor where it lays until needed. My daughter, while I was away, plugged the USB-C cable into the power strip where I have my monitors and my PC plugged into. My wife called me while I was away and told me what happened and that my daughter is okay. She was in the other room changing our baby and smelt electrical fire. I had her unplug everything from the wall, and not touch anything until I got home. I came home this afternoon and saw that the USB-C plug was melted and that the USB side was still plugged into my motherboard. I found a different powerstrip and attempted to plug in my PC, but to no surprise it didn’t turn on. Do you think my PC is salvageable? Or just a giant paperweight now? Thanks in advance.

it would certainly be fixable, question would just be how much?
because it no longer boots, very good chance the motherboard has been fried.
a new one of those would be about $AUD150-250, depending on features.

any chance the PC is under warranty? and what about house insurance, although the excess may be more.
