I got my pc in 2019. It has an i7 8700 (not K) and a 1660Ti, however in games I feel like I’m getting fps that aren’t as much as the 1660Ti should be getting. For example, in gta on max settings I get around 40-50 fps, on forza horizon 5 I get around 60-70 on high preset and on fortnite I get around 140-150 on performance mode with frequent frame drops in the first few games.
When I watched youtube videos benchmarking the 1660Ti, they got higher fps, for example on forza horizon 5 at high preset it was around 100.
On 3d mark I got 14888 which is, I think, as good as the 1660Ti should perform, which makes me wonder why I get worse performance in games.
Other specs are:
Asrock b365 gaming phantom 4 motherboard, and 1x16GB RAM from crucial at 2400MHz.
Is there anything I should do to improve my game performance, or what could be the problem?
I asked on other platforms and some people said my RAM could be the cause for worse performance because it is single channel, but will dual channel really double my fps or increase them to what they should be?
