Upgrading MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WiFi Network Card

Hi guys,

I’m just about to be upgrading my broadband provider and will now be able to get speeds of up to 1200mbps and so want to upgrade the internal WiFi card in my motherboard (installed in one of the M2 slots) as it appears to max out at 433mbps.

The specs for the motherboard are there. Can someone please send me some examples of the sort of card I would need to buy? I’m a little confused about what I’d actually need.

I’ve found these, but I have no idea what “No VPRO” and “VPRO” mean and I’ve also seen “CNVio2” and “CNVio” mentioned in saying that CNVio2 is not backward compatible with CNVio, which I honestly have no idea on what that’s supposed to mean haha.

personally, I’d want to connect my PC to the new modem directly via ethernet cable.
of course that is not always convenient but if there is ever a choice, always go ethernet.

also realise, that 1200mbps advertised speed is only available on a full harvest moon, when Saturn is in retrograde and Capricorn is rising!
plus, it will only be as fast as your weakest link.
make sure all your network gear (ports, cables, hardware) supports 10/100/1000 speeds.
for example, no good having 1Gb web speeds if you only have 100Mb ethernet port.

those m.2 cards are sometimes hard to get the antenna cables connected, plus there is a question on compatibility with your mobo.

these units have the advantage of easily moving between PC’s and have an antenna system that can be positioned to suit your environment.
