Graphics issues have been bugging me for weeks.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, this is my first time ever posting to a forum

I lent a computer to someone for a couple of months and got it back about a month ago. It wouldn’t boot when I got it back, an “Install Windows” error box popped up when the windows spinning thing appeared saying "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. This was the first of my problems. I took the Rx 580 out and put an Rx 480 in, reset the bios by shorting the pins on the motherboard, wiped the drives in the UEFI, and freshly installed windows.

The backstory is over, the issues I’m currently facing are random freezing which sometimes makes my display go to sleep, installing new drivers, and trying to launch a game with OpenGL (Minecraft) which then says the driver does not support OpenGL. Occasionally after that error, adrenaline will give me an error saying driver and software versions do not match.

I’ve tried using DDU and reinstalling drivers, I’ve tried using driver easy to bypass adrenaline entirely, I’ve updated the UEFI and tried again, windows was always up to date, and I’ve turned off windows automatic driver updates, I’ve reseated every component, and checked for damage on everything. This is my last resort asking for my specific case, I’ve looked over other similar cases, but none of the fixes seemed to work, or I couldn’t even get close with the computer freezing on me and having to force a shutdown with the power button.

The Rx 580 is now in my personal computer that I took the Rx 480 from, the 580 worked before and after switching, and the 480 worked before also, just not now.

    Specs:
Asus tuf gaming b360 pro wifi rev 1
    intel core i5-8600
    8GB 2666mhz ram
    Radeon Rx 480
    128 GB Adata m.2 SSD
    3 TB Seagate HDD

Can you Download and run and then post. Speccy - Free Download
To post: CCleaner Support Community Note you do not have to include the speccy report here just the link.

Could you also include the power supply specs E.g Cooler Master 850W Gold V2 NOT E.g 850w

          Ps
Would you prefer the 580 in this computer or do you want to keep it in your personnel computer

            Here’s the link: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/1...yikuHrkABMkMl5

If absolutely necessary I can put the 580 back, but I would prefer to keep it in my personal computer. I’d rather have two working computers than just one.

The power supply is an EVGA BQ 500W 80+ bronze Semi modular

No. That must have been my friend who is supposed to be using the computer messing with it

It was running windows 10 home without being activated since I had just installed it, but the errors persisted even before the version changed

Another new install of windows, and it immediately freezes after getting to the desktop

Take out the video card and use the on board graphics
Go here Click On Me and download and install the chipset drivers and maybe the network drivers

Alright, now running integrated graphics, and updated the chipset driver. Also a little off-topic, what’s wrong with Bitdefender?

The built in Windows Defender is better - Ask here or any forum that fights malware.
You are adding extra resources you don’t need.
Bitdefender has been causing issues with some computers and usb ports.

We will try the card later but first we need to test if anything else is causing BSOD and not chasing our tail
                              1. Does the computer seem stable now
                              2. About how long has the RX480 card been playing up
                              3. I assume your games do not play well with the inbuilt graphics (did you upgrade the graphics driver from web site).
