My pc wount start up after changing CPU

    Hi!

I just tried to change the cpu and ram cards on my pc, but after putting in the new cpu the pc wount start.

    Previous cpu: i5-7400kabby lake 3.00ghz
    New cpu : i7-9700k

Is it that there is not enough power, its only a 30watt power jump so its kinda wierd?

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the motherboard so we can check the specs.

But i found out now that the mother board is compatible with i7 but only up to 6th gen, and i just bought a 9th gen i7

That the reason why we asked for the MB info, the CPU socket type may well be the same FCLGA1151 but the BIOS is not hence the problem you are having.

We wish you better luck with any compatible replacement.

The CPU is not compatible with the MBs BIOS, there is nothing at fault hardware wise and unfortunately your only option is to get a compatible MB for the new CPU, there is no BIOS update that will allow for the new CPU to work in that board.

            You are welcome
