    Cpu temp

so i got an old cpu fan like really old from like 2009

my cpu is an I7-4790k and im going to get myself a new fan around the 28th

worrying part about this is under workload it sits around 70-82 and during heavy workload it can even go up to 102 for half a second until the fan kicks up then it goes down to 80-90 during heavy workload

now these are no good temps but my question is will this fry/kill my computer if i use it until the 28th or should i leave my computer alone until i get a new fan?

and does anyone have any good tips for some relatively cheap fans that work well?

    Which fan? (location)

Is the power connector the correct one?

Does it help with the temps to remove the side panel, and have you cleaned the dust form the system?

everything is as it should be and the fan that is incharge of cooling down the CPU which is my CPU fan which is located ontop of my CPU

but its old when i say old i mean like 2009 if not older and its going to get replaced on the 28th but what im hoping someone could answer is

if the temps i provided will kill my pc or if i should leave my pc alone until the 28th

it would suck not being able to use the PC until then but i don’t want to kill my pc either

There is always a possibility that the heat could do damage to the system.

You get what you pay for.
You are talking about one of the most important parts of your system.

no cheap doesn’t necessarily have to mean bad thats very untrue

just a fan that will do the job “well enough” that doesn’t involve me dying from starvation because of the price you don’t need an expensive fan in order to keep temps in safe ranges as far as i am aware??

but im not talking about a 5$ fan

30$min 80$max this is what i’ll be able to spend to not affect my budget plan

alright then i’ll most likely avoid using my computer until i’ve gotten my hands on a new fan just to be safe
