PC won't start. Need help.

Had no problem with my rig for years. Today in the morning was playing X4 Foundations - everything as usual no signs of trouble. Turned computer off for couple of hours and now it won’t start. Clicking power button PC starts to make usual boot up sounds (fans etc.) but no BIOS messages appear on screen. After smth about 20 sec - reboot.

My setup:
i5-6600
Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3
16 GB DDR3
Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 850W

Detached everything not needed for boot (graphic card, every HDD) still no progress. On powering up motherboard makes repeating “pip-pip-pip” sound for 10 sec, then sound stops for another 10 sec and then reboot.
Latest changes I made in my computer - yesterday changed power supply for 3 hours. Wanted to test my old “CoolerMaster V750” (RS-750-AMAA-G1) if it still ok. Generally PC worked with this psu - launched normally, browsing or watching video was ok, but when I tried to launch some games (X4 for example) computer rebooted all of a sudden. So I put usual power supply back in and everything was ok, computer worked. And now it won’t launch even BIOS.

What could be wrong? Is it motherboard? Can somebody show me the direction to dig?

Tried to connect another psu - same result - reboot after 20 sec.

That “pip…” sound is coming from motherboard itself, not from that small speaker. Some transistor is “singing”?

Most manufacturers have beep error codes for their systems.

Hi
Remove the power cord
Open the case and touch some metal (case will do ) to discharge static.
Check that you have connected all the power cables - CPU fan etc.
Remove and reseat the ram
Reset the cmos - see attached
Close case
Power on
Test

Was trying to “resurect” motherboard + CPU in different ways, and something worked. Don’t know what exactly, though. System is booting normally and everything seems to work, but I’m concerned about chipset temperature. It wasn’t that hot before. HWiNFO shows - 89C° for chipset. Any advice on what is causing such temp? Or how to cool it down?

Don’t know what is happening, but the system is stable, somehow. Chipset temperature is not causing any hangs or reboot.

Yes. I get 87-89C° on chipset (according to HWiNFO64) when system is idle. Curious thing though - launched some games and got 91C° maximum. System = stable for more than 7 hours now… Don’t know what went wrong in the first place. Anyways I wanted to build myself a new PC on AMD this time. Thanks everyone for the help!

Are you air cooled or water cooled?
At temps like that I would be checking airflow and thinking about replacing thermal paste.

Only air cooling. Currently there is a standard heatsink on my motherboard. Planning to replace it with heatsink with fan from my old PC… As for now replaced old thermal pad on chipset with “Thermal Grizzly kryonaut” paste.
Anyways, this Gigabyte motherboard is 5 years old already. Never had a Gigabyte motherboard that survived more than 5.5 years at my experience.
