How to connect multiple hard drives to my computer

    Hi all

I have a motherboard of ASUS Maximus vii ranger, 2 SSDs each 500GB and 2 HDDs each 1 TB, currently all are connected through my graphic card with a SATA cable with multiple connectors and my disk drive is connected to the motherboard with a single SATA cable. right now the pc shows just 1.5 TB space which is the half of what really is available and OS is on one of the 1TB HDDs. I want to rearrange it in a way that SSD cards become my C partition and have access to all the 3TB storage on my computer. Please help me!

can we see a picture of this - I’m confused as hell.

    let’s get your PC specs.

get Speccy from here; Speccy - Download Builds
in Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
now you can paste (Ctrl+V) that link into a post.
One component Speccy doesn’t cover is the Power Supply Unit, so please also include the make/model of the PSU.

From the information that I have pulled on that motherboard there are 6 SATA 3 ports built on.
The outstanding-value ROG ATX gaming motherboard for gamers seeking superb specifications, beautiful design, brilliant performance and exclusive game-boosting features.

Even in the Manual it shows this clearly.

thumbnail1 is not a graphics card - it is some sort of RAID or SCSI card to run SATA drives as SAN’s or in a RAID format or something (can’t tell more from those pics and no Speccy report yet).
it’s not wrong but not very common and obviously done for some reason.

because your PC is only reporting half of what you’d except, I reckon you have a RAID1 setup.

thumbnail2 is where SATA drives normally go and you have one already there.
if you only want to add more storage, plug any new drive into the SATA ports in thumbnail2.

if you start playing around with thumbnail1, you are up for reloading Windows on and newly allocated C:\ as drives will have to be formatted once you break out of the RAID.
all doable, you’ll just have to prepare yourself for the can of worms you’d be opening.
