    GPU and CPU usage drop makes games fps drop aswell.

    Hi everyone, Recently i bought secondhand pc, and i think its a good pc specs for average game. When i play games like CSGO, Apex legend, and Valorant, even The Forest has the same issue. Which is frame drop.

    I’ve tried to analyze what was happening, and i saw my GPU and CPU temperature and also both usage percentage got lower while the frame drops for 30 seconds. And then FPS comes back to normal. And drops again on certain interval time.

    I dont know what cause this. I assume it was the driver installation problem. But when i reinstall all the driver. Still nothing happen. Thank you,

    My system

    FPS drops are not my thing per say, as I’m not a gamer.
    all I can add is if you have your PC as lean and clean as you can make it, that’s part of the battle.
    sadly, the other parts may be outside your control like; number of users of your network, bandwidth, line attenuation, signal to noise ratio, etc.
    but things you can control are;
    [ul]
    [li]reboot modem/router/pc[/li][li]delete restore points[/li][li]turn off hibernation[/li][li]empty web browser cache[/li][li]delete system temp files[/li][li]scan Windows for system corruption[/li][li]scan drive for file corruption[/li][li]disable unwanted scheduled tasks[/li][li]disable unnecessary startup services[/li][li]disable scheduled defragging[/li][li]trim any SSD’s[/li][li]turn off Timeline and Activity History, and all things Microsoft Telemetry based[/li][li]empty recycle bin[/li][li]delete log files and error reports[/li][li]remove old Windows Updates files[/li][li]cleanup software installer and distribution caches[/li][li]delete unwanted programs[/li][li]remove any browser extensions[/li][li]pause any online cloud storage synchronising (OneDrive, DropBox)[/li][/ul]
    CCleaner or Glary Disk Cleaner or the inbuilt cleanmgr command can do most of those points.
    ShutUp10 by O&O Software can stop a lot of telemetry items.
    other things to try;
    [ul]
    [li]create another user account and login under that profile[/li][li]check for firmware updates for modem/router and PC BIOS[/li][/ul]
    do a web speed check - go to www.speedtest.net and post the results.
    has there been any changes in the time frame that the FPS rates have dropped?
    like new software or hardware, or extra users on the network?

        Sorry for late update.

        i found the solution.

        i was downloading AMD OverDrive and turn off the turbo boost.
        apparently my clock was boosted on its own. it was 3.5 ghz. I turn it off and it goes back to base clock which is 3.3 ghz. That was it !!

        also i use firestorm to limit my GPU temp to 77 Celcius

        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
        Another question

        but im still wondering. why boosting clock makes my pc stuttering ? i cannot comprehend the situation.

        also in voltage indicator. mine was around 1.2 V. isnt FX 8300 processor specs are on 1.4 V ?

              sorry Gagan, OC’ing and AMD processors aren’t my area.
              but good news on the solution.

              I’ll leave this open for a bit longer in case others have advice with your latest questions.
