    Random PC Restarts

    Good day everyone.

I changed my whole system a year ago and since then my PC just randomnly restarts, air flow is fine, I changed my thermal paste recently, the only old component is my video card, a 1070 from 6 years ago. The restarts are happening mostly when gaming but is very random, one day is fine, the other 3 restarts in a row. I am out of ideas, any suggestion would be appreeciated. Thanks.

I’m still trying to figure out my power supply information, things to do and the box is in another house. And yes, this is happening before Win 11.

Your power supply needs to be a minimum 500w just for the video card

Have you overclocked your ram with xmp?

                    Everthing looks fine.
The only thing I can think of is possibly the power supply

I will see what he suggest

I remember seetting the voltage of the RAM to 1.3 after I saw the value too low. So I went to BIOS again, a couple of minutes ago, and set the V to 1.25. The motherboard tried to fix something and it could not do it, and then 5 minutes into Windows and blue screen of death… So, I returned thee value to 1.3 again, and everything seems “normal” again. Maybe my BIOS config is the issue? Faulty hardware? I don’t know.

Are you sure about the power supply, don`t get me wrong it was a pretty decent PSU when it was released, problem is that it was fourteen years ago 2008 PSU review here

I just checked my PSU with this tester, I don’t understand all of it, what do you think?

You didn`t answer my question so will post the below and then chime out.

PSU testers are not capable of properly testing a PSU and will only give you the most basic of information.

The attached videos are the ones that I use as an example to show the sort of equipment that is required to conclusively test a PSU + what can happen when testing weak, old and cheap and nasty PSUs

What the equipment does is simulate a computer under load and so the PSU behaves as it would when it is powering your PC, multi-meters and the basic testing devices that you can purchase from some merchants only test the basic voltage output from the PSU rails and so cannot be relied on as 100% conclusive.

Cheap PSUs exploding when being properly tested
