One of the land pads of 9900K if broken.

I unknowingly put the processor on the my mobo (MSI Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon AC) socket with bent pins.
One of the pins got stuck on my processor’s land pad due to pressure.
After noticing, I actually removed the pin from the land pads but the gold plate was also unfortunately chipped off (not fully, but half).

Then I put the processor on other working motherboard (ASUS Strix Z390 E Gaming) of same specifications, but it’s not detected by the mobo. The CPU debug light on this motherboard glows red.

I also suspect that the processor might have undergone short circuit or internal damage when powered on.

I don’t know what to do.

    Any suggestions would be helpful

Sorry to say but I think you already know the answer, lets just hope that putting the damaged CPU in the test board has not damaged that board as well

The test board is working fine, I checked it with 9700k after that. It’s the processor that was not detected. Need to check 9900k with other mobos with updated bios.

      Thanks for replying

Sorry, missed that in your OP

The i9 9900K and the i7 9700k both require BIOS version 1005 or above to work in that ASUS board so if undamaged the i9 9900K should work so it is not looking promising I`m afraid.

Yeah, you’re right. I lost my hope and bought 12700K .

                    Nice board (y)

DDR5 would be silly prices and only any good with the CPU up to 4800 MT/s so better to stick with the DDR4 max of 3200.

Should we mark your thread as having been answered.

Yeah, but I already bought it from Microcenter, hoping that the price will sink soon.

Thanks for answering and pls do mark it as answered.
