    Windows SSD Issue

I’m having an issue where the Windows SSD isn’t launching. When I go into the BIOS the SSD is not listed in the Boot #1 or Boot #2 options. It is however listed below in the Boot Override list which when I select it, Windows launches fine. It used to happen randomly in the past but now it’s happening pretty much every time I turn the PC on. Thanks for any help.

Hi. There are a number of boot options which I don’t know what most mean. The drive is detected in the BIOS, it’s just not an option in the Boot #1 & #2 drop down boxes. So basically the PC will blue screen then restart. I’ll then go into the BIOS & manually select the Windows SSD to boot up.

Do you know if the bios is set to legacy mode or Uefi mode.

In your OP that device is list as being a Storage device, if Windows is installed there that is not an appropriate label to name the drive.

The boot sequence is one reason why you are having issues and because we don`t know which of the storage devices actually has Windows on it we cannot advise you as to which drive should be placed first, we can rule out the USB drive as that should not be there and likewise such a small capacity should not be a boot drive as for when running Windows 10 a 256GB SSD should be the minimum capacity of the boot drive.
