Check the boot order to make sure that it is reporting the correct drive for the OS.

How old is the systems and what was it doing prior to this happening?
Any new software installed, hardware, ETC…
Do you have the install media for Windows 10 so we can run a check disk?
For the install media if needed.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10
Follow the steps below and see if it helps:- Insert the installation disc or USB flash drive, and then restart your computer.
- Press any key when prompted to do so, and then follow any instructions that appear.
- When the Install Windows page appears, click Install now to begin the installation process or click Repair your computer to access system recovery options.
- Click on “Repair your computer” from the lower left corner.
- From the “Choose an option screen”, click on “Troubleshoot”.
- Click “Advanced Options” in the “Troubleshoot” screen.
- In the “Advanced Options “click command prompt.
- Then enter the chkdsk command chkdsk c: /f/r and press enter
Important: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost.Comment

So about 6 years old but I’ve upgraded parts through the years, never had an issue. Nothing was happening prior to this issue.
I believe Windows 10 is either on the motherboard or somewhere in the house (sorry my brother set the PC up sometime a go so I’ll have to ask him)
Whilst he is available do you recommend I test the HDD on another PC?
Thanks!Comment

With some of the drive being 6 years old then there is a possibility that it has failed.

Download Windows 10
Be aware that it WILL WIPE the thumb drive.

Without knowing if it is an EIDE or SATA connection.Comment

Hello guys I want to say thank you very much for the advice given, with this I managed to work out the hard drive had sadly died, it’s severed we well for 8 years and after the 31015 turn on it finally gave way.
If anyone else is suffering my issue then it might be the same fault I have found, I downloaded windows media creation tool onto a flash drive, out the flash drive and ssd back in and the PC is back up and running. Thank you very much for all the advice, means a lot!Comment
