New PC. RAM issues

Hi all,

Just complete the build of my PC.

Ryzen 7 5800x
MSI B550 Tomahawk
G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4 3600 (16Gb x 2) kit
Palit GeForce 3070

And I have an issue with my RAM.

When both of them are inserted my PC boots and every 5-10 seconds screen is flicking with a black screen. After 5-15 minutes I can see BSOD with memory_management reason.
Memtest has got 10k+ errors only at test #6 in this case.

Then I’ve tried to check them one by one and discovered that the first one is working fine. No issues with loading and using my PC.
Memtest has got no errors too in this case.

The second one is just to get my PC to the main page and freezes/failed with BSOD.

I have tried different RAMs in different slots, the results are the same.

Does that mean that I have got one RAM broken from this kit?

Did you test the RAM in another computer that will accept it? Are you SURE that this is the correct RAM for this machine?
If the RAM works in another machine, then you could have possibly damaged the CPU or some other addressing chip on the
mother board.

You have the wrong RAM for the CPU that you have, AMD state here RAM up to 3200MHz for their Ryzen 7 5800X CPU.

The RAM will work when only a single stick is inserted in the board because the RAM is only working in single channel at around 1066MHz.

Suggestion, disable XMP in the BIOS, manually set the RAM speed to 3200MHz, save the new settings, restart the PC and test by using the computer with the two sticks running at 3200MHz.

Just tested this RAM stick in another build and it works fine.

So again, in my build, the first RAM stick is working fine in any slot. And the second RAM stick is working with errors in any slot (and working fine in another build)

Try restoring the MBs default factory settings in the BIOS, they are sometimes listed as one of the following " factory defaults" “most stable” or on newer boards “optimized” please note that if you have both the “most stable” and the “optimized” options in the BIOS you should choose the most stable" option as in this instance the “optimized” settings are a form of overclocking that can cause instability.

If the above does not work, return the 3600MHz RAM and get the correct 3200MHz so that you can just enable XMP and be done with it.

I have just tried to do what you suggest.

Unfortunately, none of these didn’t help.
Tried to do this with only a “bad” RAM stick inserted and with both sticks inserted but still no success here.[/color]
