    Non-windows HDD booting infinitely

    Hi!

I have a strange problem: one of my HDD’s probably corrupted, because it didn’t get damaged physically, but one day my PC didn’t boot up (it stays on the booting screen infinitely and the loading sign is moving, so it doesn’t freeze). After I disconnect the specific HDD, my PC boots up just fine, since windows is installed on another drive.

I would like to restore the files on the damaged drive to another drive, before discarding the drive, but I need to get into windows with the HDD connected while booting, as I understand.

Could anyone help me with this specific problem?

    I’m on windows 10 pro.

    Thanks in advance!

If you do not have an external usb closure you could try booting of a linux live usb/dvd and see if it boots.
Create a bootable USB stick with Rufus on Windows | Ubuntu No install needed
