What happens if 2 PCs swap SSDs?

1 Two same PCs, same make, same model, & same OS.
2.OS is installed on SSD.
3.Swap their SSDs & switch power on.
? Will the PCs start?
?? Will the PCs boot into OS?
??? Will this swapping cause any damage to any part of the PCs?

Maybe yes then again there may be subtle differences’ that the system may have issues starting running or various other things.

As far as damaging parts unless you do things incorrectly you can fry, jar, and or several other things to the inside.

Unless your present product key is the full retail version you cannot use it with a new MB as an OEM product key is tied to the original MB it was paired with, to use an OEM key with a new MB is detected by the Microsoft servers as software piracy and therefore you get on screen warnings etc..

They will also consider that product key pirated and block it from being used.

The purpose for the swapping is to test one of the SSDs, not to run it this way.
PC 1, does not not start the PC completely, freeze at the beginning of the start process. I guess it might be a booting issue.
PC 2, runs normally.
All I want is to test if the SSD containing OS from PC 1 can boot into Windows on PC 2.

after Windows starts, it’ll try to activate due to the hardware changes (that drive with the OS now sees new audio, video, chipset etc drivers).
when you put the drive back, it’ll try to re-activate again back in it’s original configuration as it detects another hardware change (albeit the original but they were over-ridden from the swap).

if only testing, why not use an external caddy.

Yes, I have a caddy. Test using a caddy tells whether the SSD is working but doesn’t tell whether the OS system, the boot functionality, is good or bad.
Will not do the swapping since it might cause other issues.

The issues that you are having with the affected PC might not be a booting issue.

File Corruption
Drive Failure
System Failure
Partition Failure
Hardware Failure

Without running diagnostics on the affected system with the drive installed there is no telling what is going on. Could be just as simple as a bad update one uninstalled that may correct it.
