Cpu Running extremely hot with aio.

Hello, I’m currently facing extreme temperatures when playing heavy games on my pc. For example Cyber Punk 2077 (high settings) eith cpu reaching all the way to a 100C
First here’s the part list:
RTX 2080 msi
I9-9900k
Coolermaster ml240l AIO
Corsair RM750x
Nzxt H500.

So, I wanted to ask for advice about the airflow inside the pc. Currently I have it setup so, that the air comes from the top fanslot and the fanslot next to it (basically next to the IO shield) and exits through the front of the pc where AIO radiator is mounted.

I’ve changed the thermal paste in the summer of this year so nothing should be wrong with that. My bet is that the AIO is not cooling the cpu effectively enough, or that the radiator gets only hot air after the gpu inside the pc. Any suggestions despite changing the case? I plan to change it, but I’ll have to save up for it too. Would you suggest changing the AIO also? Maybe it’s not efficient enough…

Blowing hot air across what cooler? If you look up nzxt h500, you’ll find that it has a total of 4 fan slots. 2 in the front next to each other (current radiator mounting slot), 1 at the top and 1 at the back. The hot air exits through the radiator in the front

It’s an AIO as I said, so water cooling. But yes. The hot air exits through the front ( the only available slot for a 240mm rad) where the radiator is mounted

for me, you have it all backwards, or at least, not ideal.
hot air wants to naturally travel up, it’s just physics.
inside your chassis you have the processor, power supply, drives, graphics card and mobo all generating heat.

so, at the top, have your fans blowing outwards.
at the front, have the fans sucking in cool external air.
mount the radiator for the water pump at the top if you can.

for good measure, I’d also redo the thermal paste - just in case it has already dried up a bit or there is an air bubble.

also, as veeg alluded to, take off the side cover, and for good measure, have a fan blowing air into the chassis. this will let you know that air flow (or lack of) is the root cause.
